18th Bay Of Plenty Rapid 24th February

18th BoP Rapid 2024 is to be held on Saturday 24th February 2024. The Bay of Plenty Rapid (BoP Rapid) that is held on the last Saturday of February annually is one of most popular weekend rapids in the country. Time control is 25 minutes plus 5 seconds. Details and entry forms are here. Get your entry in and enjoy playing chess in a pleasant tournament at one of the most beautiful regions in the country.

Only one more week until we kick off for the new year. We will start with the icebreaker blitz as per usual, followed by the Summer Cup over two nights, then into the club champs on 5 March. We had 10 for the final night. Jeremy came through with a score of 6 and oh. For his effort he picked up 47 club rating points on the night, reached the 1600 barrier to become the clubs fourth highest rated player, and ends the year top of the club ladder.
