Club Ladder: Explanatory Notes
The Club Ladder is evaluated as follows
Only games between financial members that have played at least one game against another member in the preceding six months are used to generate the ladder. New members enter the ladder on the bottom rung.
For multiweek tournaments all games are deemed to have occurred on day 1 of the tournament.
All games in the database (commencing from 1 Jan 2013) are evaluated. If the winner of a game (or the player with black pieces in the event of a draw) is ranked below the opposing player on the ladder then the two players are exchanged.
For example:
Starting with the rank of players on the ladder as A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I
Player E wins against player C. The ladder would be
A,B,E,D,C,F,G,H,I
Players C and F draw against each other with F having the black pieces. The ladder would be
A,B,E,D,F,C,G,H,I
Player E wins against player G. The ladder remains unaltered
A,B,E,D,F,C,G,H,I
A new member, K, enters the ladder on the bottom rung. K wins against E
A,B,K,D,F,C,G,H,I,E
